Sarah Jessica Parker Joins Forces with Gilt for New Bridal Line

Style icon Sarah Jessica Parker is lending her expertise to a new ready-to-wear line of bridal attire. The actress has teamed with Gilt for the collection, which features ten styles created for the different stages of a bride’s special day - from the wedding shower to the reception.

The pieces, available through Gilt.com, range from classic gowns to jumpsuits that come in traditional white and edgier colors like black, gray and blue. Items retail for between $295 to $2,395 and can be purchased in sizes from zero to 14.

Developed in New York, the items are made from fabrics imported from France, Spain and Italy and feature handcrafted detailing.

“Not only is Sarah Jessica Parker’s style known around the world, her point of view is one-of-a-kind,” said Tom Ott, chief merchant of Gilt, in a statement. “Sarah Jessica brings her impeccable taste and fashion sensibility to life in this collection. We think our customers will be delighted with the offering which is stylish and well-priced in the bridal category.”

When helping to create The SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker Bridal Collection, it was important to Parker that the items be wearable for occasions other than a wedding.

“The intent is they should be usable outside of that special occasion,” Parker told Women’s Wear Daily. “Whether you’re the person walking down the aisle, or you’re attending, these are all pieces that should be relevant in your closet,” said Parker.

“There are some pieces that feel more decadent and more specifically bridal,” the former Sex and the City star added, “There’s no law saying they’re not appropriate for many other important occasions as well.”

To celebrate the line’s Tuesday launch, the fashion house will also release 15 exclusive offerings from Sarah Jessica Parker footwear.
