Schiaparelli's Couture show to go on

Schiaparelli's Couture show will go on this month, in spite of the sudden exit of the fashion house creative director Marco Zanini last November, the label has confirmed.

The Paris-based fashion house will host two shows during the upcoming couture week commencing on January 26, according to WWD. One catwalk show will be dedicated to the press, the other for clients and potential buyers, which will showcase the Spring/Summer 2015 couture collection, which has been designed in-house whilst the fashion house awaits the appointment of a new creative director.

Schiaparelli, founded by Italian designer Elsa Schiaparelli, first became famous in the late 1920s. However, due to financial issues, it was closed down in the 1950s before being acquired by Diego Della Valle. Zanini was the first designer to work for the acclaimed fashion house in over fifty years, but reportedly left after creative difference arose between him and Della Valle.

The fashion house has hinted that Zanini's successor will be announced "soon," although no one has officially been appointed to fill the role.
