The creators of Money 20/20, a European market trade convention, recently just unveiled a new retail-driven event. The three-day event, entitled Shoptalk, will serve as a gathering of retail industry workers, stakeholders, and investors to discuss and network within fashion.

The new event will focus on technology and investments and how their impact on retail will change the industry. Technically speaking, the event will not serve as a trade show like the bi-annual WWD Magic event in Las Vegas. Instead, Shoptalk will be a place where those in the fashion workplace can collaborate, share ideas, network, and discuss retail. “[T]oday’s consumers expect a wide range of new integrated, on-demand and personalized products, services, and experiences,” Aggarwal said in a statement. Retailers that have already confirmed for the event include Neiman Marcus, Under Armour, and Target.

The event was created by Anil Aggarwal and Jonathan Weiner. The duo teamed together and made Money 20/20 into a success as a financial technology conference. The business was sold to i2i Events Group for a minimum of 100 million dollars, as reported by Recode.net. In order to fund their new project, the pair raised 2.5 million dollars for Shoptalk.

The three-day gathering will be held from May 16-18 in Las Vegas. According to Retailing Today, the event is projected to bring in 2,000 attendees including investors, brands, retailers, tech start-ups and more.
