Spongebob by Patrick Mohr

Spongebob Squarepants and Patrick Mohr – the clue’s already in the names. Who else should Nickelodeon’s cartoon hero, famed for his love of quadratic legwear, team up with to create a new collection but a German designer known for his trademark geometric shapes and symbols, and who also shares the same first name as Spongebob’s best friend? ‘Patrick loves Spongebob by PM’ is the name of a new ready-to-wear collection that designer Patrick Mohr has developed for the yellow cartoon star, Spongebob Squarepants.

“I’ve always been a huge fan of Spongebob,” the fashion designer said in reference to the collection created in collaboration with Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products, which will be available in Europe and the USA at the beginning of next year. “I thoroughly enjoyed working on this collection. Capturing Spongebob’s optimism and light-heartedness felt like a therapeutic process. I am very proud of what we have achieved.”

Nickelodeon is the world’s biggest and most-used multimedia and entertainment platform for children and families. Patrick Mohr founded his label in 2008 and since then the designer has garnered plenty of attention with his unconventional fashion shows. In addition to the Berlin-based designer’s collection, there will also be another line created together with the Starter Black label, featuring hats, socks and sweaters.

Following the collection’s showcase at the PREMIUM trade show, the collaboration between Mohr and the cartoon hero from Bikini Bottom will also be celebrated with all-night drinks at the Prinz Charles Club in Kreuzberg. The collection is located in hall 8, stand D05.
