Sports brand Starter has announced that it will launch the first Starter Black Label including womenswear. The new collection will debut later this year rolling out in stores on August 25.

The collection was designed in-house, as reported by WWD. The line will include activewear such as track pants, cropped crew necks, t-shirts, hoodies, joggers, and more. With a modern take on athleisure, it seems that the Black Label line will show off a trendy design. Prices will range from 25 to 125 dollars in price and will launch with a total of 15 styles in various colors. “We took the silhouettes and modernized them. We dropped the shoulder on the V-neck pullovers and even made the soccer pants sexy and slim-fitting,” Freddi Almodovar, who helped to oversee the development of the line, told WWD.

The American manufacturer has been a subsidiary company of the Iconic Brand Group. The company has entered licensing agreements with the NBA, NFL, NHL MLB and more. By moving into womenswear, it'll be interesting to see how the Starter brand fares moving forward. Currently, the label is known for its licensed uniforms for main sports leagues in both the USA and Canada. Moving forward, only time will tell if Starter will end up targeting women's sports in the future.
