How do you build on the essence of a brand known for their classic suiting? Believe it or not, it is possible to do something new with something classic. Suitsupply proved it can happen at New York Fashion Week: Men's.

This season, the European men's fashion brand built on their refined approach to things, creating luxurious suiting pieces for today's modern man. The color palette was Earth tone-based, featuring sand, camel and pale browns. Materials featured this season included moleskin, baby alpaca, and brushed flannel for a utilitarian effect. While most luxury suiting customers expect materials like wool for their suiting, Suitsupply managed to diversify their material offerings. They are a brand for a more educated customer, one who wants a suit beyond the traditional fine wool that requires an excellent dry cleaner.

The brand wasn't afraid to spice it up a little bit either. An emerald green velvet tuxedo was a standout signature piece in the collection for the guy who isn't afraid to be a little more daring. Plaids and stripes were notable patterns in the collection, as SuitSupply aims for that customer who is way beyond the traditional grey and black suits. This year's presentation was here to remind you that just because you are in formal wear, doesn't mean you ever have to keep it simple.
