As we approach the end of year 2015 The official Swahili fashion week kicks off as a multifaceted three days of fashion, beauty, and lifestyle event compound with unforgettable performance and diverse culture which continue to put Tanzania On an international spotlight. Thus every first week of December, all roads lead to Dar es Salaam, henceforth today the press launch of Swahili Fashion Week 2015, now in its Eigth Year.

Mustafa Hassanali the founder of Swahili Fashion Week said “There is African proverb “if you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far go together”, this year we aim is to reach out to the public to emphasize and promote talents within the fashion industry and beyond. We aim to strengthen Brand value, championing the “made in Africa” concept and building global brands with African roots.”

The Eight edition of Swahili Fashion Week will continue to be the highlight of fashion weeks in Africa with both local, regional and international designers garnering millions impressions from national and international media since its inception in 2008. Swahili fashion week has been the premier creative platform for designers from East Africa and beyond who showcase their collection to the global audience at par.

“We urge the public to support the design industry and proudly wear MADE IN AFRICA, especially Tanzania concept. The local talents need to be nurtured to evolve them into synonymously globally recognised Brand names. Charity begins at home, thus we look forward to support from local companies and organisations to facilitate this trade of business of fashion” stated Honest Nyamai, the Fashion week Manager

This year Swahili fashion week will take place from 4-6 December at Hotel Sea Cliff. The 24 designer Runways shows will take place every evening over the period of three days from 8.30PM onwards. During the Day time there shall be the shopping festival whereby various exhibitors shall display and sell various handicrafts, art and accessories. The Last day will culminate into celebration of the Finery in the Fashion industry where by award winners in 21 Categories will be announced.

Swahili Fashion Week and Awards 2015 is organised by 361 degrees, hosted by Hotel Sea Cliff and sponsored by EATV, East Africa Radio, Jaguar “The Art of Performance”, CMC, Baileys, Vodacom Tanzania, Tanzania Printers Ltd, A1outdoor, 2M Media, BASATA (Baraza La Sanaa La Taifa), NexiaSJ, Green Telecom, Fabcars, Asila Make up, Raha, Eventlites and Darling Tanzania
