Swizz Beatz calls out Balenciaga for similar design

Balenciaga is the latest elite brand to receive copyright allegations from American hip hop artist Swizz Beatz. The producer, lesser known by his real name Kasseem Dean, recently called out the brand's Spring 2018 collection for copying record label Ruff Ryders.
The record label has come out with t-shirts and apparel with the company's logo, a rustic, metal "R." In Balenciaga's version, the collared shirt nearly resembles the exact same copy except with a "B" instead of an R. In his Instagram account, Dean reposted the shirt from the collection addressing his concerns. He then posted the original shirt version from Ruff Ryder sin 2000, stating that he may want Balenciaga to open a fashion school in the Bronx or Harlem in a way to give back to the culture.
Currently, Balenciaga has not reached out or released a personal statement on the issue. FashionUnited has reached out for a comment. In the meantime, it seems that Balenciaga's Instagram account has been receiving various comments about the allegations, which could in turn ultimately hurt the designer brand's business.
