The Point, a retail center in South Bay, is underway for development. Located on Sepulveda and Rosecrans, the new shopping space will open at the end of July.

The potential new space will be a haven for locals filled with retailers, restaurants, and entertainment options. The Point will feature a collection of regional shops in its center including local and national brands. So far confirmed tenants comprise of Planet Blue, Lou & Grey, Lucky Brand, Athleta, SoulCycle, ShopHouse.

The center is being developed by San Jose based company Federal Realty Investment Trust. The total space will occupy over 115,000 square feet. The tenants are a key component of marketing and merchandising for the Point, according to Jeff Kreshek, vice president of West Coast Leasing at Federal Realty. Kreshek tells WWD of how e-commerce sites such as Amazon have made shopping in person a bit obsolete. “So the industry has evolved [and] the experience of shopping is what it’s all about. It’s got to have great dining, great [sense of] place and great retail,” Kreshek told WWD.

The South Bay was chosen as a location for The Point due to its laid-back atmosphere. Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, and El Segundo are all considered part of the South Bay region.

The center’s confirmed date for opening is on 30 July where a ribbon cutting ceremony will be held.
