Los Angeles - A new streetwear minimalist collection is officially underway. Designer Daniel Patrick has tapped the talents of musical rapper Tyga for a new fashion collection. The collaboration is set to launch later this month on September 22.
Tyga is most known for his work in music, but also has been known in the Los Angeles scene for his style. As reported by WWD, Tyga had come in to Patrick’s store previously and expressed interest in collaborating. As a result, the two have come together finally and created a fresh, clean collection consisting of eight styles. “We wanted to do something minimal and clean and may not what [Tyga’s] regularly known for,” Patrick told the publication.
Tyga partners with fashion designer for new collection
This isn’t the first time that musical artists have dipped their toes in fashion designer. Rihanna just recently released her collaboration with Puma, establishing her brand through retail pop-ups. Kanye West also hosted various temporary pop-ups for The Life of Pablo and just showed his Yeezy Season Four collection at New York Fashion Week. In general, it seems that fashion designing isn’t too far off from the music industry, as both become more intertwined in the realm of business.
Keeping in-line with Patrick’s concise fashion designs, the new with Tyga is collection is reflective of a monochromatic color palette. Entitled the Daniel Patrick x T-Raww collection, the collaboration ranges in price from 110 to 600 dollars. Made in Los Angeles, the eight styles include outerwear, long t-shirts, denim, and sweatshirts. The collection stays true to Patrick’s other apparel lines. “[Because] my aesthetic is minimal and clean, we wanted to stick to that theme,” he told WWD.
Patrick’s line is currently available in approximately 70 boutiques including Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and West Hollywood. Currently, Daniel Patrick has two stores in Los Angeles, with one off of Broadway and the other off of Melrose. Once launched, the collection will be available only in the U.S. at his Melrose location as well as on his e-commerce site. The collection will also be available through Revolve’s Revolvement.
