Arab Fashion Week has been postponed. The country’s COVID-19 vaccination drive is well under way, so unlike other Fashion Week’s that have had to make adjustments for public health reasons, the pandemic isn’t to blame.

The United Arab Emirates announced a three-day period of mourning to honor the death of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the deputy ruler of Dubai and minister of finance. The mourning period was declared by UAE President Sheikh Khalifa.

Arab Fashion Week will now take place from March 28 to April 1, and shows will be presented virtually from a total of 25 fashion designers. The event represents all 22 Arabic countries and is hosted in Dubai at the Meydan Hotel, promoting both Arab and international designers.
