Coming from the world of automotive design, Vicki von Holzhausen has decided to foray into something entirely new. Recently, she decided to design a fresh label devoted to handbags.

At the moment, Von Holzhausen’s design background stops at automotive, as she served as the design manager for General Motors’ advanced concept studio. She also worked as a designer for Mercedes-Benz. Turning her efforts to fashion, Von Holzhausen dived right in with minimalistic, high-quality bags. She began the idea for the bags in 2010, after leaving her job at General Motors. Although a drastic switch, Von Holzhausen is confident in her designs and new Los Angeles-based label. “What I’ve learned is that designers are good at designing a lot of different things in a lot of different ways,” she told WWD.

In finding her new fashion sense, the designer had to undergo a new creative thinking process. The bags are simple in design and fine in quality of materials. Using leather and luxe materials, according to WWD, Von Holzhausen states the bags are offered at a decent price point for their worth. The handbags range in price from 395 to 795 dollars in price and will be available on her e-commerce site. The collection will be released on Monday, November 8.
