The combined teamwork of designers Brian Wolk and Claude Morais moved to Los Angeles a year ago to launch their Wolk Morais line. The former New Yorkers responsible for creating the New York-based clothing label Ruffian made the move to SoCal in order to add L.A. influences to their apparel.

The collection, with the assisted styling help of Elizabeth Stewart, debuted last Monday in Hollywood at the Kohn Gallery. The L.A. line also worked with L.A. Eyeworks in order to show off colorful glasses that complimented the dynamic apparel. With 25 looks, the technicolor palette showed off a major 60’s influence.

The new collection “LA New Look” showed off vibrant colors, silk prints, separates, and colorful dresses that reflect L.A.’s sunny weather and style. Their take on Old Hollywood mixed with a new modern feel of SoCal inspired their newest resort L.A. collection. "There's a cultural consciousness going on," said Wolk of the iconic city. Wolk added, "There were a lot of these minimalist painters here in Los Angeles in the 1960s and we were really inspired by that color palette and modernism [in the 60s]."

The complete collection was designed and manufactured locally. All fabrics were sourced in the Los Angeles area as well.

The prices for Wolk Morais range from 495 to 4,000 dollars.
