Zayn Malik has become increasingly popular among the fashion crowd. Look no further than his appearance at the 2016 Met Gala. Anna Wintour doesn't just let anyone on that guest list.
Wintour even put Malik and his girlfriend, supermodel Gigi Hadid, in a photoshoot for Vogue. Malik has also appeared on other magazine covers like Paper, Elle UK, and Interview.
The next expected step in Malik's journey with the fashion crowd would of course be a collaboration. Malik is already in the good graces of designers like Kim Jones, the men's wear designer for Louis Vuitton, and Balmain's creative director Olivier Rousteing. It's not unlikely that he could be the campaign star of a luxury fashion house sometime in the near future.
However, until someone decides to put his face on a billboard for a luxury brand, he will be collaborating with Italian luxury shoemaker Giuseppe Zanotti. For a recent GQ profile, Malik modeled the brand's footwear in a small, run down sea shanty.
"Style is not being afraid to be bold about some things, or to say what it is you have to say," Zayn said to *GQ.* He first met Zanotti at Paris Fashion Week last year to work on a pair of biker boots*.* "I feel like Giuseppe does that with his collection — and I try to do that with my music. So it kind of works."
Malik took to Instagram yesterday morning to promote the hashtag #GiuseppexZayn, similar to the hashtag format the Zanotti already has with Jennifer Lopez. Zanotti has a history of teaming up with big music artists. He's done custom shoes for stars like Kanye West, Kid Cudi, and Beyonce.
So far, the only style from the collection that has been released is the black suede boot with side zippers. The collection will hit stores this January. While official prices haven't been released yet, the shoes are expected to retail between 695 dollars and 995 dollars.
