Patricia Whisler, the senior vice president of women's merchandising at The Buckle Inc., will be stepping down from her role this spring after 40 years with the company.

Whisler joined the company in 1976 where she began as a part-time sales associate. She would later be promoted to a store manager role, and in 1983 she began serving at the company headquarters in a merchandising role. In May 2001, she was promoted to vice president of women's merchandising, and in March 2014, she became senior vice president of women's merchandising.

In a statement, the company said Whisler was an "instrumental part of the company’s success as [Whisler] partnered with many branded vendors over the years to both market their brands and develop exclusive product for Buckle.” Whisler has also been responsible for the development of Buckle's private label brands.
