Los Angeles - American-based luxury footwear and accessories brand Buscemi has made a couple of internal changes this summer. In addition to bringing in Tony Arcabascio as an artistic director last month, Buscemi just announced that it named Rebecca Damavandi as chief executive officer.

In taking over the new role, she will succeed Andrew Ajlun. Her duties as chief executive officer will include leading the brand’s strategic initiatives and emphasizing on wholesale and retail for Buscemi. She will be based in Los Angeles for her new role and will work towards focusing on global merchandising sectors as well. “[Damavandi’s] clear knowledge of where Buscemi needs to go and how we can get there will help unlock the brand’s potential,” Jon Buscemi, creative director of the brand, told WWD. She will also help relaunch the brand’s website as well as help further along product development and brand growth. Previously, she worked at brands such as Vince, Rebecca Taylor and David Meister.

The design house is known for its handcrafted shoewear made from Italian fine leathers and decorative embellishments. Buscemi’s commitment to fashion involves bringing elegance and unique craftsmanship to sneakers. Arcabascio was brought in last month in order to help drive some of the creative artistic design abilities of the brand. With both Arcabascio and Damavandi in new roles, the brand could be headed towards a brand new direction.
