Bruno Pavlovsky, president of fashion activities at Chanel and president of Chanel SAS, has been appointed co-chair of The Fashion Pact, joining existing executive members Óscar García Maceiras, CEO of Inditex, and Paul Polman, co-founder of The Fashion Pact.
The industry coalition has also appointed Ermenegildo Zegna Group executive chairman Ermenegildo ‘Gildo’ Zegna and Karl Lagerfeld CEO and president Pier Paolo Righi to its steering committee.
The appointments form part of The Fashion Pact’s leadership renewal as it prepares for its next phase, with a focus on translating collective sustainability commitments into practical action and scaling solutions across the fashion industry.
The organisation also thanked Gerald J. Corbae, chief executive of NoaBrands, and Laurent Milchior, chairman and CEO of Groupe Etam, who are leaving the steering committee as part of its rotation process. Corbae will continue to attend meetings in a non-voting advisory capacity, while Milchior will remain involved in representing smaller businesses.
Launched in 2019 at the initiative of French president Emmanuel Macron, The Fashion Pact brings together fashion and textile companies to address climate change, biodiversity loss and ocean protection through collective environmental targets.
By 2020, the coalition had grown to include 60 chief executives representing more than 200 brands across 14 countries. Its objectives include reducing carbon emissions, increasing renewable energy use and sourcing lower-impact materials.
The latest appointments come as the organisation looks ahead to 2027, with an increased focus on implementation and scaling industry solutions. "Bruno’s appointment marks an important step in this journey, bringing valuable leadership and perspective as we work to strengthen collaboration across regions, business models and supply chains," the organisation said in a LinkedIn post.
