Los Angeles - The California Market Center, which is home to various showrooms, just added a new employee to their team. With a reorganization plan in the mix, the CMC hired Alyssa Olmstead in charge of a new division.

Olmstead was hired as the department's new retail relations manager. Her duties for the position include strategizing and implementing various buyer programs and outreach initiatives for CMC markets and tradeshows. Her overall goal in her new role is to connect quality, targeted buyers to their showrooms and exhibitors. “Her goal will be to encourage buyers to take advantage of one-on-one assistance,” said Rebecca Aguilar, media and public relations for CMC. Olmstead will work with the team to help source new brands as well.

Her previous work experience includes having a background in fashion sales. One of the companies she has worked at in the past was La Mer Collections based in Venice Beach. This, along with other roles in the fashion industry has helped prepared her for this role. In addition, her knowledge in sales specifically helps add to the CMC team. “Alyssa brings extensive relationship with key buyers and stores [and also] in-depth market knowledge for a variety of categories,” said Aguilar.
