Los Angeles - SoCal based basics label Creatures of Comfort brought in their first chief executive officer. The brand, which started originally nearly 10 years ago, brought in Jenn Krouse to help grow the brand’s collection forward.

Krouse has had experience in the fashion industry prior to this new hire. She served the position of director of international sales for women’s designer label Tory Burch. At her previous workplace, she helped to expand the brand in Asian and Latin American markets, according to WWD. Jade Lai, founder of Creatures of Comfort, decided to bring in Krouse so that she could focus more on the artistic side of the business. “The goal is for me to step away from the day-to-day business side and focus on the creative,” Lai told WWD. Ideally, Lai expects that Krouse will help to structure the company towards wholesale growth towards other, more expansive markets.

The Los Angeles-based label was created by Lai in 2005. Since then, the ready-to-wear label has offered minimalist apparel including menswear, womenswear, accessories, jewelry and shoes. Prices for Creatures of Comfort can vary, with certain pieces approximately priced near 1,278 dollars. The company expanded to the East Coast in 2010 with a New York store. Since then, the store has continued to grow selling its merchandise at its flagships as well as at other fine boutiques. Currently, the company has only two single-standing stores, which are based in New York and Los Angeles.
