Stefan Larsson, the first person to succeed Ralph Lauren as CEO of his eponymous label, is said to be in talks with J. Crew Group to join the company as its new CEO. The news was reported by Business of Fashion, quoting anonymous sources familiar with the negotiations.

With a CV that includes senior positions at Old Navy and H&M, Larsson served as Chief Executive Officer of Ralph Lauren between November 2015 and May 2017. He departed due to differences with Lauren, who remained in the company as Chairman and Chief Creative Officer.

If the deal with J.Crew goes through, Larsson would replace Jim Brett, who left the CEO role in November 2018 and has since then been succeeded by a committee of interim executives.

FashionUnited has contacted J. Crew, but the company declined to comment.
