Lifestyle American brand J. McLaughlin just named their newest chief executive officer. Taking over the head role, Mary Ellen Coyne will help the brand in leading the overall direction to grow and strengthen J. McLaughlin.

Her role will include product development, marketing, brand development, and other aspects of strategy and operations. She will work with chief creative officer and co-founder Kevin McLaughlin who will oversee all of the brand’s product design. “I am thrilled to be joining the J. McLaughlin team and plan to leverage the strength of the brand to accelerate the company’s growth across all channels of distribution, by both increasing the current retail footprint and investing in the company’s direct marketing efforts,” she said in a statement. Her past experience includes her role as chief merchandising officer of the Polo Women’s and Children’s divisions at Ralph Lauren, where she worked for nearly 20 years. She also worked at Victoria’s Secret, Ann Taylor, and the Gap at various merchandising positions. Bringing those skills to the table, Coyne will help build J. McLaughlin and propel the brand to where it needs to be.

J. McLaughlin was founded in 1977 in Brooklyn and currently emphasizes proprietary apparel and accessories for both women and men. The brand focuses on timeless style as well as craftsmanship for its collection. With over 109 retail locations, the brand has spanned itself across the country. The company also retails its collection through its ecommerce website.
