Coming from manufacturer and design company Big Strike, Kevin Mahoney is stepping into the next stage of his career. After holding that executive position for approximately three years, Mahoney has now been announced at Manhattan Beachwear’s newest chief executive officer.

As the company has become one of the leading manufacturers in apparel, Mahoney brings in executive skills to help grow the company. He comes as no stranger to the fashion industry with extensive experience in management roles. At leading women’s career and casual apparel company Big Strike, he also held the position of chief executive officer. He worked as a president of NYDJ, LLC, a wholesaler and retailer for women’s clothing. Also, in his experience, he served as president for Hartstrings, LLC, a retailer and wholesaler for children's clothing. “Manhattan Beachwear’s founders have done an outstanding job building the company and I look forward to applying my core competencies in taking the firm to the next level of sales growth and profitability,” he said in a company statement. With his past jobs, he can bring in the skills necessary for Manhattan Beachwear’s goals.

Inspired by beach culture, Manhattan Beachwear was founded by Alan Colvin over 25 years ago. The company serves as both a designer and manufacturer for women’s apparel with an emphasis on swimwear and activewear. After acquiring multi-brand apparel company Apparel Ventures Inc., Manhattan Beachwear expanded into one of the largest manufacturers for swim and activewear in the U.S. The company’s portfolio of brands includes Lauren Ralph Lauren, Kenneth Cole New York, Lucky, Polo Ralph Lauren, Trina Turk, and more. Currently, the company produces approximately 18 million garments per year.
