London - Parisian label Paule Ka has named Alithia Spuri-Zampetti as its new creative director, following a year without a designer at the helm.

The Central Saint Martins graduate succeeds Serge Cajfinger, who departed in July 2014. Cajfinger founded the contemporary French fashion brand in 1987 and served as both its creative director and chairman.

In a short statement, the French brand stated that with the appointment of Spuri-Zampetti the label enters a “new chapter in its history” and that it marks part of its “brand renewal” plans.

Spuri-Zampetti joins the label from Lanvin where she has been in charge of women’s ready-to-wear for the past six years. Prior to that she held roles at Valentino and Bottega Veneta.

Commenting on her appointment, Spuri-Zampetti said: “In keeping with Paule Ka’s chic heritage and with the support of its atelier, I am keen to create a contemporary wardrobe, combining the essentials of daily wear with more elaborate pieces for special occasions. And all within a price range that offers accessible luxury typical [of the brand].”

Catherine Vautrin, CEO of Paule Ka added: "Alithia Spuri-Zampetti's mission is part of an ambitious international project aimed at both expanding Paule Ka’s clientele as well as affirming a unique style, by going beyond the perfect stylish little dress, to offer a comprehensive urban wardrobe and a collection of accessories".

Paule Ka is present in 56 countries via 350 points of sale, including 60 monobrand doors and its sales are nearing 50 million euros.
