Presley Gerber, model and son of Cindy Crawford, dies at 27

Presley Gerber died on Sunday at a rehab facility in Los Angeles. A representative of his family confirmed the news to CBS, saying, "the family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time." He was 27.

Presley is the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and her husband, Rande Gerber. He started his career as a model at the age of 15, after signing with IMG Models. He walked the runway for Moschino and was featured in campaigns for Celine, Calvin Klein, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana and Bottega Veneta, among other brands, over the course of his career.

In 2019, Presley Gerber was arrested for a DUI in Beverly Hills and sentenced to three years’ probation and ordered to complete a DUI program. Since the incident, he’s been vocal about his mental health challenges and drug use.

"Having struggled with mental health, depression and some other things that come along with that, I think that whether I help one person or a hundred people get out of that place that I was in at one point in my life, that's all I need to do,” Presley told the Studio 22 podcast in 2023. In the following year, he started his “Mental Health Mondays” series on Instagram “to spark real conversations about the stuff most people hide. It’s been incredible seeing how far that message has spread and how many people it’s helped.”

In August, Kaia Gerber, his sister, discussed her brother's struggles with addiction in an interview with Vogue. "We have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, 'I'm gonna be very human for everyone,'" she said. "There's only so much you can hide from the world. Trying to put a lid on something just makes the person feel like you're ashamed of them."

Presley turned 27 in July. Crawford celebrated the date with a post on Instagram, saying, “I’m so proud of the man you’ve become, but I’ll always see you as my little boy! Love you.”
