Rent the Runway has announced the election of Artie Minson, President and CEO of coworking rental space chain WeWork, to its Board of Directors, following a partnership between the two companies. Since October, WeWork locations across the United States feature Rent the Runway drop-off boxes, allowing its customers to immediately return rented items and free a slot in their subscription to order another item.

“Artie is a seasoned CFO with over 20 years of experience in a variety of subscription and membership businesses. As we continue to rapidly scale our ‘subscription to fashion’ business, we look forward to tapping into Artie’s deep understanding of scaling and operating high-growth subscription and membership platforms”, said Scarlett O’Sullivan, Chief Financial Officer ar Rent the Runway, in a statement.

Founded in 2009, Rent the Runway offers a “closet in the cloud”, with apparel and accessories by over 600 designers available for rental. Over 10 million people subscribe to the service. WeWork operates workspaces to over 320,000 members in 83 cities around the world. Last year, 36 percent of the American workforce worked in self-employed or freelance capacities.
