Ross Stores, Inc. recently just made a new change to one of their head departments. For Ross Dress for Less, the company just recently promoted Bernie Brautigan to president of merchandising.

Previously, Brautigan worked as group executive vice president for the brand. He reported to Barbara Rentler, the company’s chief executive officer. In his new role, he will still report to Rentler, as his role now includes ladies’ apparel, children’s apparel, shoes and accessories. His promotion comes from his effect on the business expanding over the years. “[His] many valuable contributions have had a significant impact on the growth of our company over the last 13 years,” Rentler said in a statement.

Brautigan’s other previous work includes serving as executive vice president for merchandising at Ross for five years. He also worked as senior vice president and general merchandise manager. Currently, Ross Stores, Inc. has over 1,274 locations in over 30 stores in the U.S. The company is known for its discount prices with offerings from 20 to 70 percent off. Currently, the brand also owns DD’s Discounts, that operates in 15 states of the U.S.
