Sears Holdings Corp. has created the position of chief administrative officer, with James P. Andrew filling the role.

In the newly created role, Andrew will be responsible for the company's corporate support functions, business finance, procurement, legal resources, and human resources.

In a statement, Edward S. Lampert, Sears' chairman and chief executive officer, said Andrew's "range and depth of experiences managing corporate transformations and capability development makes him a strong fit for Sears Holdings as we pursue our member-focused transformation.”

Prior to his new role at Sears, Andrew was at Royal Phillips NV where he was executive vice president and chief strategy innovation officer. He was responsible for the transformation of Phillips' performance and development, in addition to the company's market growth strategies and the digital transformation of their portfolio.

Before he worked at Royal Phillips, Andrew spent 25 years with Boston Consulting Group, where he was a senior partner and managing director.
