Minimalist brand Simon Miller recently just went through an executive change. It was recently announced that Jake Sargent, co-founder of the brand, is to exit the four-year-old company. Formerly serving as Simon Miller’s president and co-creative director for the brand, the company will have to look for new hires to replace those roles.

Although Sargent is leaving the company, he will remain an equity holder. In the future, he plans to “[pursue] other new business opportunities,” according to the trade publication. The reasoning for Sargent’s leave comes shortly after the acquisition of Simon Miler’s parent company Indigoods LLC, as reported by WWD. Influx Studio LLC took over the parent company and the company’s founders Corrigan and Chelsea Hansford now serve as the co-creative directors of the Simon Miller brand.

The company, founded on the principles of Japanese fabrication and American construction, was established by Sargent and Daniel Corrigan in 2011. Together, the two built a framework for apparel that has hand-indigo dyed staples as well as a retro, sleek aesthetic. Made exclusively in the United States, the brand uses Japanese textiles in order to produce high-quality fabrics. Production is between the brand’s studio in Los Angeles as well as its showroom in New York.
