Buscemi recently added a streetwear mogul to its global design house. The footwear and leather goods company just hired on Tony Arcabascio as an artistic director.

The design house announced recently that Arcabascio would be joining the team to help in a creatively driven way. “Tony joining the team really rounds out the authenticity in our global marketing department, and his artistic direction is something we have been looking for since the inception of the brand,” creative director of the brand Jon Buscemi said in a statement. The American based luxury footwear and accessories brand was founded by Buscemi in 2013. The handcrafted shoewear is made in Italy with fine leathers and high-end embellishments. The brand is committed to bringing craftsmanship and elegance to sneakers. Bringing on Arcabascio’s creative direction is a way to keep that commitment going. “Working with a massive talent like Tony is a huge complement to our brand,” Buscemi said in a statement.

Arcabascio joins the Buscemi team with over 25 years of experience in the fashion industry including streetwear fashion. He started as a graffiti artist and a t-shirt graphic designer. In his recent work, he did collaborations with Levi’s and Adidas. He gained his start in the industry from various jobs. Arcabascio gained fashion experience from joining editorial publication Sportswear International and Jane Magazine. From then, his experience spanned further by his streetwear brand Alife that he co-founded in New York City in 1999. Alife gained prominence in NYC as a streetwear boutique featuring special edition sneakers from brands such as Reebok, Nike, Puma, Saucony and more.
