Eco-friendly manufacturer The Mountain just hired a new chief executive officer. Effective this Monday, May 15, Kenny Ballard will officially take over the new role.
The announcement was made rom executive chairman of the brand Bridgit Lombard. "We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Kenny and have him lead this company forward,” Lombard said in a statement. “His energy, enthusiasm and expertise will be a huge asset for The Mountain as we dive into new categories and build a solid foundation for future growth."
Bringing on Ballard is a smart move as he has had vast experience in other elite outdoor brands such as Kelty. He served as president of the company, implementing strategies as well as helping build the brand over time. He also worked as senior vice president of operations of Osprey Packs, handling day to day operations fo the business. His work as a leader in these key brands showcases the talents Ballard can bring to The Mountain.

The Mountain, which launched 25 years ago, is known for its environmentally friendly apparel. Including t-shirts, hoodies, tank tops, and more, the manufacture sells to retailers in approximately 58 countries. The wholesale company also retails directly to consumers through its online site, themountain.com. Recently acquired by Gladstone Investment Corporation, the outdoor brand seems to be moving forward with its business strategy by hiring on Ballard.
