Véronique Tjon to lead assurance and traceability at Textile Exchange

US-based sustainability non-profit Textile Exchange has named Véronique Tjon as senior director of assurance and traceability. The appointment comes at a pivotal moment for the organisation as it prepares for the Materials Matter effective date on December 31, 2026.

Tjon brings more than 16 years of experience across certification, assurance and global textile supply chains. In her new role, she will help strengthen the systems that underpin trust, transparency and accountability across the industry's transition to more sustainable materials.

Speaking on her appointment, Tjon said: “This is an exciting time to join Textile Exchange as the organization evolves toward Materials Matter. I look forward to working with the team to strengthen our assurance system and build on our commitment to bringing greater transparency and integrity to a complex value chain, while helping give producers, brands, suppliers, and consumers greater confidence in Materials Matter.”

The goal of Textile Exchange is to help the industry achieve a 45 percent reduction in the emissions that come from producing fibers and raw materials by 2030.
