Worn Brand, the premium performance merino wool apparel label, has announced the death of its founder, Bryan Marville, from glioblastoma at the age of 43. His life partner, Paige Kendig, will take over leadership of the company.

Marville founded Worn in 2019 out of his passion for the outdoors. An avid surfer, bow hunter and snowboarder, he developed the patented Arrowool fabric to make socks that could stand up to all weather conditions while holding their shape. As the socks grew in popularity, the range expanded into briefs, T-shirts, midlayers and outerwear.

"Saying goodbye to Bryan was the hardest thing I've ever done and I will miss him immeasurably, not only for who he was but also who he inspired and what he created with Worn," said Kendig, Worn director. "I'm honored to lead the Worn team forward and continue to share his love of the outdoors with the world."

Kendig previously worked in television production, most recently as a senior producer for "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert." She became an official Worn employee only recently, but has been involved in the brand's operations and marketing for the past seven years.

Worn's patented fabric combines merino wool with a technical fibre at thread level, producing apparel that manages moisture and regulates temperature while offering durability and range of motion. The brand cites merino's lower environmental footprint against cotton, describing it as renewable, biodegradable and free of irrigation and microplastic shed.

Worn was founded in, and remains headquartered in, New York's Hudson Valley.
