American Rag Cie, Los Angeles retailer, is opening new locations in China. Set for 2015 and the next upcoming year, more than 30 stores are planned to open in China.

The Shanghai store is just one of the brand’s ventures overseas. According to Mark Werts, founder of American Rag Cie, the brand has had plans for expansion in emerging markets for the future. In the previous years, the company opened stores and/or concept stores in Thailand, Bangkok, and Instanbul. According to WWD, the Los Angeles-based company plans to open the Shanghai location in July. Over the next three years, 40 brick-and-mortar stores will open in China. “There’s a core of people who appreciate global fashion trends,” Peter Caplowe, chief executive officer of American Rag’s Cie China business, told WWD.

American Rag Cie was founded by Werts in San Francisco in 1984. The brand became known in Los Angeles after a flagship in the area the year after. The urban company offers 110 brands including Baldwin, Puma, Zanerobe, Amour Vert, Birkenstock, Toms and more. Pieces from the chic brand range from 82 to 380 dollars. The brand currently has two stores based in the U.S.: its original flagship and another based in Newport Beach. The company has 11-50 employees and is headquartered in Los Angeles.
