Assembly, New York-based designer clothing brand, will open its second ever brick-and-mortar shop in Los Angeles. The new store will open its doors May 1st on Melrose Avenue.

Assembly is known for menswear and womenswear which quality fabrics emphasizing an edgy, casual line. The fabrics and materials used for Assembly are well constructed to match their fitting price. In the L.A. store, customers will find raw materials in the architecture including marble pieces, chrome-infused spheres, and bohemian furniture.

Greg Armas, founder of Assembly, considers himself bi-coastal. With the new store opening, Armas expects to see both customers who are attracted to New York’s style and L.A.’s styles. “I consider myself a New Yorker and an Angeleno, [and] I think having access to both is our demographic’s goal,” Armas told Style.com.

The store is set to open on Melrose Avenue, which is known for its vintage, chic boutiques at luxury prices. The spot was chosen due to its retail history. Resurrection and Fred Segal are both Melrose legends that have uplifted the surrounding area in terms of shopping popularity with locals.

Armas built his career based originally in Los Angeles as a curator. He opened vintage store Scout with Joey Grana in Los Angeles in 2003. After leaving that venture to pursue Assembly New York on the east coast, Armas decided to come back to California to open Assembly at one of L.A.’s highest volume shopping areas.
