Baldinini makes moves with first U.S. flagship

Haute couture footwear and accessory firm Baldinini just confirmed its arrival to the U.S. Debuting in New Jersey, the brand has decided to expand its retail footprint with a new boutique and with a new retail strategy.

The 100-square-foot boutique will offer both men’s and women’s collections from Baldinini. The footwear and accessory brand will join 150 other high-end stores at the shopping mall at the Short Hills Millburn area. The storefront will also offer Gimmi Baldinini line and accessories, including minimalist pieces. With a color palette of beige and cream, the boutique will emphasize a sophisticated, clean aesthetic. According to the brand’s website, Baldinini’s footwear ranges in price up to approximately 862 dollars. Similarly, the store will offer footwear around this price point.

The new store offsets Baldinini’s strategic plan to move into the U.S. retail market. While the brand has participated in the market for the past five years, this is a way that the company can have real roots in the U.S. with a bricks-and-mortar flagship. Currently, the brand already conducts 5 percent of their business in the U.S. This move will only further strengthen Baldinini’s presence internationally. “We are working on the restyling of our boutiques which will display an increasingly modern and refined concept,” chief executive officer Gimmi Baldinini said in a statement. The footwear brand also plans to open more stores in New Jersey, Florida and New York this year and into 2017.

Located at Short Hills, this particular location will be officially opening its doors on September 27. When the brand opens, it will also host an event dedicated to its clients, celebrities and fashion bloggers. This location, as well as many in the future in the U.S. are all part of a bigger retail move. Through these flagships, Baldinini plans to root itself as an international brand. “Our investment is part of a retail expansion plan to be carried through 2017, particularly in paramount international shopping locations,” said Baldinini. “In so doing, we will solidify our position Worldwide.”
