Christie’s is set to open a new location in Los Angeles. Spanning 5,400 square feet, the brand is planning to open its flagship in Beverly Hills.

The space will also help maximize the auction house’s presence by opening a special exhibit that will run from April 20 to 28. With a cocktail event planned for the night before, the space will have items including luxury brands such as Cartier and Rolex. “The opening for L.A., for us, is a really important moment because it does recognize and reflect the importance of the West Coast in the world of high art and objects and jewelry,” Christie’s chief marketing officer Marc Sands told WWD. The space will auction off art, jewelry, luxury handbags, and more once it opens. “I think this is of a different dimension altogether in terms of the commitment to the area,” Sands told the publication of the new space.

Founded in 1766 by James Christie, the auction house has collected various fashion pieces, art, and international collectibles. Ranging in price from 200 dollars to over 100 million dollars, Christie’s ranges in a vast amount of categories including contemporary, post-war, modern, and more. With a global presence already in place, the Los Angeles flagship further improves Christie’s stance on the West Coast. Bowing this month, the place will continue to auction off its rare pieces in a fitting market.
