Los Angeles - H&M’s sister brand, Cos, is officially planting roots in downtown Los Angeles this year. The elevated fashion label confirmed plans of a flagship to open in 2017. However, the brand just announced that its new store will actually open earlier, debuting this fall.

The flagship will be the company’s third store in California, bowing at 5,511 square feet. Owned by fast-fashion company H&M, Cos’s new store will be off of 8th street located in the historic former Olympic Theatre. In order to keep things historic, the brand plans to do a little bit of restoring but to mostly keep the space’s original details in tact. The interior will reflect a modern decor with glass, wood, and concrete finishes. The new store shows Cos’s continual progress in the country. After successful pop-ups, a permanent store was a natural move for the brand. “We are very happy with the brand’s growth in the U.S.,” Cos Managing director Marie Honda told WWD.

Cos also has locations in Southern California including the Beverly Center, Beverly Hills, and South Coast Plaza. Cos currently offers jersey dresses, jumpers, blouses, outerwear, denim, and more with a modern, minimalist aesthetic. The brand typically retails its clothing for approximately around 100 dollars. At the new store, the brand will offer its merchandise in a open, functional space. There is still no official date for the store opening, but it will open its doors sometime later this year in the fall season.
