New York-based brand Creatures of Comfort has become somewhat of a staple in Los Angeles contemporary fashion. With its popularity in the area, it makes sense that the upscale brand has chosen Silverlake for its newest flagship.

The store will boast 800 square feet in Sunset Junction in Los Angeles. Part of the reason this location was chosen was due to the success Creatures of Comfort has had in California. "All of my West Coast friends moved into Silver Lake and the surrounding areas as they got older and so I feel my customer is really here,” creative director and designer Jade Lai told WWD of the new store. Currently, the brand has one other location in New York on Mulberry Street. These two locations show that the brand's focus is clearly in the U.S. market. By becoming bi-coastal, it seems that the label is taking advantage of its clientele and testing the waters in retail.

The brand, founded by Lai in 2005, has been known for its standout piers with a mix of modern, feminine style. The collections are made from luxury materials with a reductive approach to fashion. Creature of Comfort offers clothing, footwear, accessories, and more ranging in price from approximately 35 to 4,772 dollars. The new store will match the brand's aesthetic with satin-brass finishes as well as plywood shelving. The store just opened recently and currently carries the label's full ready-to-wear collection.
