Cuyana, San Francisco-based e-commerce site, is hosting its first pop-up shop in Los Angeles. This Thursday, June 24, the brand will hosts its temporary shop partnering with Who What Wear at The Grove.

The brand held its first-ever pop-up last year in New York. The pop-up was held in Soho in December and lasted for a couple of days. This year, the brand transitioned into hosting a temporary boutique in Los Angeles. Following its first preview on Tuesday, the pop-up will offer Cuyana’s elevated basics, leather accessories, and silk tops. Known for high-quality fabrics and a minimalistic style, the brand expanded its merchandise with t-shirts, dresses, and tanks for summer. It wasn’t until last year that the brand started offering apparel in addition to its popular tote bags. The pop-up will open Thursday evening at the Grove shopping center, backed by Los Angeles firm Greycroft Partners.

Co-founders Karla Gallardo and Shilpa Shah were drawn to the idea of Cuyana to create products with “rich stores while also building a fashion brand with a central mission of social change,” according to their website. The two cultivated their personal style and turned Cuyana into a global lifestyle brand that empowers local craftsmanship and high quality products at affordable prices. The brand was founded in 2011 and geared towards leather goods, scarves and accessories originally. Finally adding apparel into the mix, the brand now offers tanks, dresses, tees, and more. The company currently operates with about 30 workers, according to WWD. Based in San Francisco, the company runs most of its e-commerce from its online site. Cuyana has a showroom based in San Francisco’s Union Square as well.
