Los Angeles - Womenswear designer Elaine Kim has decided to upgrade her company in more ways than one. Kim, in ownership of her eponymous label, recently just expanded in retail and added new brand categories.

The Los Angeles-based designer improved her retail store by quadrupling it in size. The new flagship has an outdoor patio and also new categories in fashion that were essential to the increase in space. The expansion also called for the store to take over its neighboring space, which allowed the boutique to show off its concept more. Because of her accumulated following over the years, Kim thought that it was more appropriate to expand on her space instead of moving to a new location. “I felt that this street would support my expansion,” she told WWD. “It’s an amazingly [intimate] kind of shopping.”

The new space allows for Kim to show off more of her brand categories. Some of the categories that are being introduced include denim, sleepwear, handbags, footwear, and home decor items. Her clothing typically ranges in price anywhere from 295 to 1,295 dollars. On the brand’s website, Elaine Kim offers jumpsuits, outerwear, tops, denim, accessories and more. With the new space, the store is now able to offer most of the same merchandise. The store additionally has decided to add other brand names to add local creatives into the mix. In the near future, Kim also told WWD that she plans to ultimately expand her e-commerce site. However, for now her re-vamped Third Street store is her most recent project.
