Elisa B., cult-favorite among Los Angeles locals, returned to Pasadena this month after a brief hiatus.

The new space is located on Holly Street in Pasadena. It boasts 1,200 square feet and offers labels such as Citizens of Humanity Denim, Mara Hoffman, Vena Cava, Milly, ALC, Enza Costa, Helmut Lang, Dolce Vita, and more. The store officially opened its doors July 1 on Wednesday. Elisa Bruley, founder and curator of the shop, hits tradeshows on the east and west coasts to find the best of each season to offer at her boutique. “I look for excellence in fit, construction and fabrication,” said Bruley when looking for prospective pieces for Elisa B. “For the most part, though, I try to stay true to my sensibilities and just trust my instinct,” Bruley states on her site. Elisa B. offers various styles including feminine, high-quality garments. The brand is currently retailed at Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue and ranges from approximately 10 to 98 dollars in price.

The former store shuttered a year ago in Old Town Pasadena and was replaced by French label Cop. Copine. The historic retail-happy area was where Elisa B. first started. The store opened in 1993 and lasted 22 long years at the venue. Throughout the years, the store was known for its edgy womenswear, event parties, trunk shows, and more. The shop also included DIY workshops, vintage-themed cocktail parties, and participated in Los Angeles’ Fashion’s Night Out event. Although the reason for the store’s closure is unknown, the brand quickly made plans for a reopening.

In efforts to create a brand that offered clothing reminiscent of New York or Beverly Hills style, Elisa B. was created. Her latest project includes the reopening of her store located in Pasadena.
