Forever 21 to close its San Luis Obispo location

The fast-fashion retailer just recently stated it will be closing one of its biggest stores in California. Approximately around January 6, Forever 21’s San Luis Obispo location will close.

The store boasts 120,000 square feet at its central California location. Due to the store closure, the company will also have to lay off employees. As reported by Apparel News, the company sent a letter to San Luis Obispo Mayer Jan Marx, stating that it will cease all store operations at that location nearing the first week of January. The store closure affects over 63 employees including store associates, assistant store managers, and one store manager.

There is no current news on what will happen to the space after Forever 21 vacates. The Forever 21 location currently serves as the retail anchor for the Country Club Plaza Shopping Center. By leaving the space, the new prominent retail tenant will be Macy’s.
