Fred Segal to open new Los Angeles store

Los Angeles - After an e-commerce launch last August, Fred Segal is continuing to move forward with expanding its retail presence. The upscale clothing brand recently revealed that it will be opening its next boutique in Los Angeles’ Playa Vista district.

The new space will encompass a total of 20,000 square feet. The space joins various other retailers in Playa Vista’s retail center such as Barnabas Clothing Co., which will open at the end of February. Fred Segal’s brick-and-mortar shop is expected to land officially sometime after the 2016, according to Apparel News. The brand, which expanded overseas last year, will retail its luxury clothing at the new space. Known for its premium denim, the brand will offer its cutting-edge womenswear and menswear which is influenced from California culture.

Currently, the brand is headquartered in Santa Monica, California. Established by founder Fred Segal in 1960, the company was acquired by Sandow in 2012 to help build out the brand. The luxe brand has five operating stores located currently in Los Angeles, Santa Monica, LAX, Las Vegas and Tokyo. The new store will be the brand’s sixth brick-and-mortar.
