Free People opens new FP Movement store in Cranston, Rhode Island

US lifestyle brand Free People opened the newest retail location for its activewear label, FP Movement, in Cranston, Rhode Island, on October 15, 2026. Situated in the Garden City Center shopping destination, the store strengthens the presence of the label in the area alongside an existing Free People shop.

The retail unit covers 1,209 square feet of selling space and houses core activewear collections from the brand, such as ‘Never Better’, ‘Hot Shot’ and ‘Field Tripper’. Assortments feature performance leggings, bras and tank tops alongside transitional pieces intended for workouts and daily routines, including the ‘Quick Step Pant’ and ‘Mountain High Half-Zip’.

Constructed with an iridescent arch, dark framing and painted brickwork on the exterior, the interior environment combines engineered white oak flooring with warm white wall finishes. The layout incorporates four curtained fitting rooms with backlit mirrors and adjustable lighting, accompanied by a communal fitting area with a wall-mounted mirror.

To the left of the entrance, the cashwrap features straight wood tambour panelling with a light pink concrete surface, equipped with two point-of-sale units. Behind the till counter, two digital screens display rotating video content.

Established in 2012 as a category on Free People, FP Movement emerged as an independent brand in 2020, opening its first standalone store in Los Angeles. The brand currently has 98 stores nationwide, offers online shopping at Fpmovement.com, and collaborates with wholesale partners such as Dick's Sporting Goods and independent fitness studios.
