Fashion label A.P.C., which stands for “Atelier de Production et de Création,” just opened a new location in downtown Los Angeles.

The store opened this past weekend at the intersection of Broadway and 9th Street in the middle of downtown. The previous space was occupied by Vista Art Galleria, an art gallery. The new store’s interior resembles a modern theme with mostly monochromatic colors. There are wood finishes throughout the store as a decorative trim. The simplistic, minimalist storefront shares an interior aesthetic similar to its clothing.

A.P.C. is known for its high-end French fashion pieces. The label carries contemporary, chic clothing for both men and women. The clothing ranges in price approximately from 100 to 2,000 dollars. The palette of clothing reflects neutral colors including mostly gray, black, white, and denim. The new store will offer shoes, handbags, accessories, men’s apparel, and women’s apparel.

The French ready-to-wear label has been established in 1987 by founder Jean Touitou. The brand was first known for its classic, traditional denim. Over time, the label expanded its collection to offer accessories, menswear, and womenswear. The company currently has a little under 300 employees. The design studio and workshop for the brand are based in Paris. A.P.C. has approximately 50 independent shops including locations in New York, Los Angeles, London, Hong Kong, and more. The brand has two other stores in Los Angeles based in Melrose Place and Silver Lake. A.P.C. is also distributed in high-end retailers such as Nordstrom’s or Bloomingdale’s.
