Galeries Lafayette, one of the most famous department store chains in the world, is set to open one more flagship store in Paris, in the second half of 2019. The new shop, which is to span over 8000 square meters and four floors, will be located at the Beaugrenelle shopping mall, in a space previously rented by Marks & Spencer.

"This opening once again illustrates our strong ambitions to reinvent our French network and will significantly strengthen our presence in the capital. Galeries Lafayette Beaugrenelle will offer a new model for the 'local department store', presenting in a compact space the best of our Fashion selection, paired with our omnichannel services to better attend to our clients in Western Paris", said Olivier Bron, Operations Director of Galeries Lafayette and BHV Marais, in a statement.

Galeries Lafayette currently holds two stores in the French capital, including its first address at Boulevard Haussman, which operates for over 120 years. In total, the company runs 280 stores, of which 56 are located in France. In addition to the new location at Beugrenelle, Galeries Lafayette plans to finally join the select list of brands featured at Paris’ most famous shopping avenue, Champs Elysées. Shops in Istambul, Berlin, Shanghai and Milan are also in the company’s pipeline, according to its website.
