Hermès signs lease for 706 Madison Avenue, New York

Hermès is set to open a new flagship store at 706 Madison Avenue, in New York. Spanning over five floors, the retail space will occupy a restored bank building from the 1920s, red-brick facade included, approved by the Landmarks Preservation Commission.

The announcement follows the renewal of Hermès’ US website, the opening of Hermès stores in Palo Alto and New York’s Meatpacking District, and the expansion of its San Francisco flagship. “This upcoming commitment demonstrates Hermès’ confidence in the US market and will to nurture a relationship of almost 90 years with its clients”, said the brand in a statement.

The new store will be launched in 2022. Until then, Hermès will continue to operate in its current location at Madison Avenue.
