Italian lingerie brand Intimissimi opens first US flagship

Italian lingerie brand Intimissimi recently opened its first American flagship at 601 Fifth Avenue, New York. It marks the brand’s, which is owned by the Calzedonia group, first step in the US market.

Spanning over three floors, the 500-square-foot boutique houses the entire Intimissimi collection as well as a range of Calzedonia products. Prices start from 45 dollars for a bra to 100 dollars for a silk slip dress.

The debut flagship store opening marks the start of the Calzedonia group US expansion as Intimissimi aims to open 20 more stores on the East Coast, before starting an expansion to the West Coast. "We have never been in a hurry to enter a market before we are sure we are ready for it," says Sandro Veronesi, Founder and President of the Calzedonia Group in a press release. "We are convinced that it is time for us to expand into the United States. We have found the perfect location and are ready to do great things."

Founded in 1966, Intimissimi is known for its “made in Italy” lingerie. The brand launched Intimissimi Uomo, underwear for men, three years ago. The lingerie brand is part of the Calzedonia S.p.A. Group and is available in 40 countries with more than 1300 stores.
