Jacob Cohën opens first US flagship store in New York

On October 27, Jacob Cohën opens its first US flagship store in New York, marking “the entry into the US market with a series of points-of-sale in the country’s most prestigious locations”, explains a press release.

The space covers an area of over 400 square metres on Madison Avenue, designed by Jennifer Tommasi Bardelle, president and creative director.

“The opening of our first flagship in the US is a very important milestone for us,” stated Tommasi Bardelle in the press release. “It means competing in the homeland of denim. It is a challenge that Jacob Cohën has decided to accept with enthusiasm, backed by its know-how, Italian style and the excellence of the materials used in the collections.”

Located at 67th Street, the new store features an extremely welcoming atmosphere capable of creating a new hospitality experience.

The boutique spans two levels. The ground floor houses the womenswear collections, featuring panelling completely clad in cognac-coloured leather alongside precious smooth or fine-corded velvets on the floors, walls and rugs. Warm, extremely tactile materials create a “home” effect. Then there is denim, the brand’s fabric of choice. It covers panels, seating, mirror frames and pouffes in the fitting rooms, with the pouffes also crafted in leather. This contrasts with the romantic touch of floral-themed wallpaper featuring the Jacob Cohën logo.

An imposing staircase leads to the first floor, featuring leather-clad steps, a leather handrail and lily-themed panelled boiserie. Here, the space is dedicated to the menswear collections. The coffered ceiling, denim pool table and bar area with a denim counter and seating evoke a sophisticated and elegant gentlemen’s club. Here, denim once again conveys the brand’s style. It represents the essence of the brand, blended with smooth beige velvets in a fitting room furnished with a leather pouffe and a leather-framed mirror. Another fitting room features smooth blue velvet alongside a leather pouffe and a leather-framed mirror.
