Joe’s Jeans decided to close its doors to its Los Angeles flagship with no set relocation.
The brand, known for its luxury denim jeans, was set on Melrose Avenue neighboring hit fashion boutiques such as Marc Jacobs, Marni, Revolve Clothing and more. The brand offered slim crop styles, ripped jeans, overalls, flared wide-leg styles, and more. Prices for the brand’s pieces range from 98 to 189 dollars.
In April, LA Racked reported that the denim den confirmed that it would be closing its Melrose location for a movie. The trendy jean brand opened three years ago on Melrose Avenue. According to Apparel News, the brand has been in financial turmoil since its acquisition of Hudson Jeans, premium denim line. Joe’s Jeans bought Hudson Clothing two years ago. According to publication, Joe’s Jeans’ stock was close to being delisted on June 25 by Dow Jones & Co. Apparel News also reports that the company has struggled with paying back “sizable loans.” Potentially this setback could be the reason why the company has not yet confirmed where it will relocate its high-end denim.
Joe’s Jeans was founded in 2001 by Joe Dahan, creative director and current founder. The store is a casual chic lifestyle brand that offers timeless styles to handcrafted collection pieces. Currently the contemporary denim brand operates five stores in California from San Diego to San Francisco. Joe’s Jeans operates 30 company-owned stores in the U.S. Expanding in a global scape, the brand also is available at department stores and specialty boutiques internationally including Europe, Asia and Latin America. Galeries Lafayette, Le Bon Marché, Harrods, Liberty, Printemps and Tsum are a couple of the retailers that Joe’s Jeans are available at. The company currently houses 51-200 employees and is privately held.
